Satay Fondue

Satay Fondue!

It was supposed to be a great dinner before the truth descends… =(

Look how yummy it looks!!!

A small introduction of this Satay fondue (aint sure what it is called). It is similar to our Chinese steamboat aka hotpot or the more commonly known fondue. Sticks of raw food are dipped into a boiling pot of satay mixture (peanut and some spices). Sounds good so far?

Everybody was enjoying themselves…

Ok, here’s the gross part. The satay mixture which everybody was dipping their raw food into it is actually recycled. What do I mean by recycled? It means when a table of customers has left, they will collect the pot of left over gravy and pour it into pots of other customers. How’s that for hygiene!? (Janette dear, you really should not have told me the truth =P). Oh you think that’s gross? Here comes the worst part… the used satay sticks are actually brought into the kitchen, wash and RECYCLED!!! We should really give them an award for being the most environmental friendly shop!

Hows that for a tragic life....

Chicken Rice Ball Anyone?

Chicken Rice Ball Anyone?

Have any body heard of Chicken rice balls? I heard of ice balls though, never chicken rice balls. Anyway I did made a fool of myself when I saw every other tables in the shop has plates of fishball. So I happily told my friend that I wanted to order the fishball that they were having. Only then, they burst into laughter and told me that the fishballs wasn’t fishballs afterall but CHICKEN RICE BALLS!!!

Fishballs or chicken rice balls???

That’s Barry and his beautiful wife

Me and Hubby of coz!

One Day Melaka Trip

One Day Melaka Trip

Frankly speaking, I have never been on a ONE day tour to anywhere. It was so hectic, mad rush to everywhere especially the traffic condition in Malaysia aint as friendly as that of Singapore - I am glad I was not driving. There were almost a few near collision between us and the car in front.

After a 4 long hours drive, we finally made it to our hotel (Riveria Resort Hotel). I thought it was supposed to be a 2 hours drive from Singapore to Melaka???

The hotel view from our 3 room suite ~
